Use of Personal Toters

Apex Waste will not be held responsible or accept any liability for privately owned containers. Repair or replacement of these items for service is solely the customer’s responsibility. If you presently use your own toter, please give our office a call at 719-999-0500, and we will bring you one of our toters free of charge.

Service Limit for Additional Bags:

Our service includes up to three additional kitchen-sized bags per week (12-35 gal). Any bags beyond this limit may not be collected, or an additional fee may be assessed at $5/bag. Contractor bags (50+ gal) are not included in service limit, and an additional fee may be assessed at $5/bag. Please give us a call to schedule a bulk pickup if you will have more than 3 additional kitchen-sized bags alongside your toter.

Bulk Item Policy:

Bulk items that do not fit in a toter are not included in the weekly household service limit. Bulk items at the curb may not be collected, or an additional fee may be assessed. Best practice is to call ahead, request a quote, prepay, and schedule pickup.

Timelines:

Having your trash out by 7:00 AM on your day of collection helps to ensure smooth and efficient service. Please remember unforeseen circumstances can occur, which could result in your trash being collected earlier or later than you may expect. Residential trash service collection regularly runs from 7:00 AM until after dark.

Roll Out Service:

Apex Waste Solutions’ additional Roll Out Service (up to 100 ft) provides carryout for your trash toter. Roll Out Service only includes the toter itself. Any bags or bulk items alongside the toter will need to be placed at the curb to be serviced. If you regularly will have extra bags alongside your toter, consider adding a second trash toter to your roll out service for an additional $20 per month.

Recycling:

Did you know? One contaminated recycle toter can affect a truck’s entire load. Please remember that items like yard waste, styrofoam, liquids, pet waste, plastic bags, and containers with food residue, like used pizza boxes, are not recyclable. We may have to reject servicing a recycle toter if the recycling has been contaminated. If a toter’s recycling is contaminated, the contamination will have to be removed before we can service again.

Overweight Toters:

If a toter is too heavy for you to pick up, it is probably too heavy for our employees to pick up. Please do not load your toters with overweight items, such as rock, dirt, concrete, etc., as this risks us being unable to provide service. If a toter is too heavy for us to service, items will have to be emptied before we can service again.

Items We Do Not Accept:

Due to limitations at the landfill, we are unable to accept mattresses, boxsprings, TVs and other electronics such as computers and monitors, paint, chemicals, batteries, fluorescent lights, refrigerators, freezers, A/C units, or anything with freon.
